MS016B
Tester for diagnostics of alternator's voltage regulators
MS016B — a multifunctional tester for automotive electrical system diagnostics. The tester can be used to assess the technical condition of an alternator directly on the vehicle, check a voltage regulator independently of the alternator, and analyze data communication over LIN, CAN, and CAN-FD automotive buses. This helps identify faults and determine whether further repair or component removal is required.
Main functions
1. Automotive alternator diagnostics. The tester supports testing alternators with nominal voltages of 12 V and 24 V, including 12 V Start-Stop alternators such as the VALEO i-StARS.
2. Voltage regulator testing. The MS016B can test the operation of 12 V and 24 V alternator voltage regulators independently of the alternator. A database of regulator connection diagrams is available to simplify connection to the tester.
3. CAN/LIN Hacker function - designed to read and write data over CAN, CAN-FD, and LIN automotive digital buses. Simultaneous operation with multiple data buses is supported.
4. Starter diagnostics. When used with the dedicated MS-33503A cable, the tester can check a starter directly on the vehicle without removing it. A removed starter can also be tested on a test bench that provides secure mounting and power supply. (The MS-33503A cable is not included with the MS016B and must be purchased separately.)
