MS016A
Tester for diagnostics of alternator's voltage regulators

The MS016A is a compact multifunctional tester designed for diagnosing automotive electrical equipment: alternators, starters, and 12V "start-stop" alternators. The tester can evaluate components removed from the vehicle, such as alternator voltage regulators and 48V belt-driven starter-generators. Additionally, it has the capability to check the operation of data buses: LIN, CAN, and CAN-FD.
Manufacturer: MSG Equipment
Overview

Tester capabilities:

  • Checks the functionality of alternators in vehicles with nominal voltages of 12 V and 24 V.
  • Checks the functionality of 12 V "start-stop" alternators (Valeo iStARS) in vehicles.
  • When used with the MS-33503A* cable, the tester can evaluate the performance of the vehicle's starter and engine start system.
  • Checks the functionality of 48 V belt-driven starter-generators removed from vehicles (in alternator mode only).
  • Determines the functionality of voltage regulators (12V and 24V) separately from the alternator.
  • Reads/writes data transmitted via LIN, CAN, and CAN-FD buses.

Features:

  • Multifunctionality.
  • Compact size.
  • Ease of use.
  • Testing of removed 48 V MHEV alternators.
  • Database of wiring diagrams for connecting voltage regulators to the tester.
  • Free software updates.
